Tape cassette sign on cell?

there is a sign up at the top where the battery status and service bars are that looks like a tape cassette. what is it for? how do i make it go away?

btw: my phone is an lg shine (CU720)

It is for your voicemail. You might have checked all your voicemails but it just a glitch in your phone. It happens in my samsung all the time. Try checking your voicemails a few times and if that doesn't work then it should go away with time.
