Tappanappa with a competitive edge in the Betdaq Mobile Apps Handicap at Kempton
The Class 3 Betdaq Mobile Apps Handicap will be hosted by Kempton over a mile and two furlongs on Wednesday, 6th June. Eleven four-year and older runners have been attracted to the £6,412 prize money set aside for the winner.
The contestants are a mix of those who will race their seasonal debut today along with those who have already attempted racing at Kempton.
Tappanappa, High Chaparral’s five-year-old bay gelding out of mare, Itsibitsi, leads with the racing and winning experience at Kempton and that too during the current season.
He rolled into the new season on 25th January in the Lingfield Park Median Auction Maiden Stakes at Lingfield over a mile and four furlongs. He was the 2/11 favourite winner of the race coupled with David Probert. He led the runner up of the race, Red Shuttle, by ¾ of a length.
Concluding the race third in line was Candelita.
He then lost the Get Your Bet On At Bluesquare.Com Winter Derby Trial Stakes to a sixth position on 25th February over a mile and two furlongs. The race was won by the 3/1 favourite, Junoob, while finishing the closest to him was Tinshu.
The third outing of the five-year-old was at Kempton in the Kempton.Co.UK (Supported By Betfair) Handicap on 20th March over a mile and four furlongs. Tappanappa yanked away the race as the 9/4 favourite and led by 2 ¾ lengths.
Qualifying as the runner up was Halla San while taking up the third slot was Where’s Susie.
Out of the five seasonal starts he was only able to claim two with the last one till yet being at Kempton. His most recent try at Newmarket was truly dreadful as he landed eleventh on the field of fifteen.
He will need to look out for Tinshu and Proud Chieftain as their record at Kempton is decent with one having won at Kempton during the previous season and the other scoring second there through the very recent try.
Tappanappa should make the most out of the chance today and channelise the experience at Kempton for bagging the race.
