my tarantula has a broken leg. i cant tell if she leaks anything because i have moss in her tank so i cant see anything in there.i have a water dish fro her with a wet sponge in it. she often walks on it but behind her she leaves black stuff. what is it? its like a liquid i think but the sponge soaks it up.she drags her leg so it hit the psonge alot. should i put a sponge or water alone? whats the black stuff?

  2. you need to take her to the vet or she will die. period. I am sorry there isn't more you can do but thats really is all there is to it.

  3. Taking it to the vet is a waste of time and money.  Vets won't treat tarantulas.

    The sponge in the water is a good idea, as long as there is a little water around it too.

    If the leg is damaged, don't worry about it.  It will begin to grow back starting with the next molt.

    "Black" liquid ooz is not typical.  The body fluid of spiders is usually clearish, not black, but I still wouldn't worry.  It will heal, the leg will drop off, and grow back.
