  1. a tarantula will flick the hairs off its back when it feels threaterned, it used its back legs to flick the hairs  off of their back at the object that it is feeling threaterned by, if you get these hairs on your skin it does irritate a bit and brings you out in a rash but when my mum had spiders we never really got hairs on us my dad did and he said it just itches like h**l for a day or two, anti histamines usually help, it is just a defense mechanism as long as people don't spooke the spider it is usually ok.

  2. Some tarantulas use their legs to flick hair at predators. It just makes you itch a little or a lot...h**l I don't know.

  3. they do that as a defense mechanism . I t will hurt your nose and eyes if it gets into them ., what  it means is that they will kick the hair off they're abdomens if you disturb them

  4. My daughter volunteers at a local reptile rescue center and the guy owns some tarantulas.  She loves to hold them and has had the hairs flicked into her hands many times.  It itches a little and might leave a bump (like a mosquito bite).  It doesn't hurt, though..in fact, she never even knows it's happened until she puts the tarantula down and sees the hair under her skin.

  5. It is a way to protect themself when they are in danger. But who is going to mess with a huge spider?
