  1. usually the day starts between 4 and 6 am.  and you have to wear your uniform(btw, khaki gets filthy unloading the truck)when we started at 4, everyone took break together at 8, when the store opened.  if you can't stay to finish the truck , they will look down on you, and sometimes the bosses don't care if you have a life outside of target.  overall, they are a good company to work for, benefit-wise.  pay is all-right, at least they start you off  above min. wage.  when you go in, usually there is a "huddle" and everyone gets their job assignments, then the truck gets unloaded, scanned,  and pushed out to the floor. everyone was expected to be "global", meaning you should learn different jobs other than just yours.  (it makes you more valuable) there are separate teams that unload, push, and backstock.  it's definitely not "brain-work", it's easy to get bored .  and you are expected to work neat, because all evidence of a truck having been unloaded has to be off the floor by the time the store opens.  good luck with your interview.

  2. when i was an electrician i had to work nights at a target after-hours when they were remodeling the store. I remember seeing the target employees working and it seemed like it was pretty laid back working the overnight shift there. They would just stock shelves and you would see them sitting in the magazine aisle reading and whatnot. some of them would hang out in the patio furniture
