Newly appointed FC Khimki manager, Aleksandr Tarkhanov, has blasted Spartak Moscow for sacking Valery Karpin, admitting that the Moscow-based club made a hasty decision to part company with the tactician.
The former Real Sociedad player has been under immense pressure after a poor run of form saw the Russian outfit slip out of the title race prior to the third Russian Premier League round.
There is little arguing that the Myaso had a terrible start to the last round, as they recorded just three wins from ten league matches.
However, Spartak managed to secure UEFA Champions League qualification after claiming the 2nd spot in the league table by winning the last two matches of the season against Zenit St. Petersburg and Spartak Moscow respectively.
The fact that the Spartachi sacked Karpin despite securing Champions League berth surprises Tarkhanov, who believes that the 43-year-old should have given more time to end their long trophy wait at Luzhniki stadium.
If speculations are to be believed, Karpin might make an imminent return to management as Dynamo Moscow and CSKA Moscow are set to sack their managers.
Spartak have appointed Unai Emery to replace Karpin. Emery, who has won back-to-back bronze medals at Estadio Mestalla, has signed a three-year contract with the Russian outfit earlier this week.
“I think Spartak made a hasty decision to replace Karpin. I don’t think Emery is better than Karpin. Everyone is talking about the Bronze medals, which he has won at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 but no one is commenting on how he played the team. I've
seen a few La-Liga matches, Valencia, have failed to impress me this season."
“Spartak is amongst the biggest teams in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011. So, Spartak needed to sign a coach who can match the philosophy of the club.” The FC Krylia Sovetov Samara head coach was quoted as saying.
Tarkhanov blasted Emery’s appointment at Moscow, conceding that the Red-whites should have signed a coach with more experience and gave example of Arsene Wenger, Andre Villas-boas and Oleg Romantsev.
