FC Khimki head coach, Alexander Tarkhanov, has commented on the Russian national team’s chances to win the upcoming World Cup qualifying matches against Azerbaijan and the Portuguese national teams respectively.
Fabio Capello’s men will host the Portuguese at Luzhniki stadium on Friday before taking on Azerbaijan on October 16th, 2012.
The Euro 2008 semi-finalists will play the match after winning the opening two group stage games against Northern Ireland and Israel. As things stand, they are at the top-spot in their respective group table.
Tarkhanov went on to question Capello’s decision to exclude the in-form defenders, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Taras-Burlak-c34663. The Russian coach revealed that he was surprised to know that the former Real Madrid coach has not included the aforementioned
players to the squad.
The 58-year-old insisted that the defensive line of the team is in order, saying that he is not worried about a team which has not conceded any goal so far in the competition.

Tarkhanov went on to tell that although Capello has worthy replacements in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Viktor-Fayzulin-c36130 in the squad for Dzagoev but he still trusts the 22-year-old attacking midfielder.
Commenting on the situation with Igor Denisov, Tarkhanov backed Capello to make a bold decision ahead of the qualifying match, saying that the former AC Milan coach did the right thing to invite Zenit St. Petersburg’s player despite
his disciplinary issues.
