Tartiflette chasing maiden win of season in Piper-Heidsieck E B F Fillies´ Handicap
Tartiflette will be chasing a second victory of her career Piper-Heidsieck E B F Fillies´ Handicap at Newmarket in England on Friday, July 13, 2012. The class-2 winner will run away with a cash prize of £12,450 in the end.
The going will be soft in the 7 furlong event, which is scheduled to start at 13:20 GMT. A total of 15 runners have lined up for action in the race and a few of them have been delivering some excellent results over the past few months, which will make it
difficult for the punters to select their favourite.
However, the track conditions might suit Tartiflette more than anyone else, thus it will be a good choice to risk some money in her favour. She is a decent runner and has been performing well recently as well, which has encouraged the bookmakers to give
her a starting price of 8 to 1.
Although the young filly has been unable to win any race in the ongoing season, yet she is considered to be one of the top contenders for victory at Newmarket. Her strike rate is not good, but the overall record clearly proves what she can be capable of.
The three-year-old challenger started her career in 2011 and failed to impress anyone in her first ever outing. She was priced 12 to 1 back then and was up against some very good runners. Despite that, the bookies expected her to fight for the top three
positions, but she did not have the speed to match her rivals and had to settle for eighth in the end.
However, the Ed McMahon’s trainee was much better in her next race, as she took the top spot against all odds. She was given a tough time by her opponents, but outperformed them in the end, winning by just a neck distance.
Dr Fong’s daughter has participated in four races this year, but she has been unable to win any of them. Despite that, her performances have been extremely good, as she finished runner up on three occasions.
It seems to be the right time for Tartiflette to break the shackles and bring up her maiden victory of the season under seasoned jockey, Luke Morris.
