The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfB-Stuttgart-c40879 defender has revealed that there has been an interest from the former European champions.
German international, Serdar Tasci, has insisted that he has heard of an interest from former European and Spanish champions. He claimed that there has been contact with the Catalans, who are reportedly in the race to sign him
in this summer’s transfer window.
If reports are to be believed, Barcelona are in the market for a central defender after an injury plagued season for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carles-Puyol-c8331 last term. The club have set their sights on Tasci, who has widely been linked with a move away from
the Mercedes Benz Arena this summer.
Tasci revealed that there has been interest from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 and is eager to sit with the Catalan officials to discuss a potential transfer. The player insisted that there has not been any offer from the Spanish giants yet but, is
confident that a transfer can be discussed in the coming weeks.
The Bundesliga winning defender, however, admitted that there have not been any talks between the two parties and has insisted that he will focus on his current side until then. The centre-back is keen to resume training with Stuttgart
until a decision is reached and has stressed that he is focussed to training to his full potential in pre-season.
“I've heard that I'm a candidate for Barca. If an offer comes from Barcelona, you have to get together and have talks. There is no offer, so I'm fully focused on the start of the season with VfB. I've prepared so that I'll be able
to train perfectly normally on Monday. There is no direct contact, so I don't want to talk much about it,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The German international had also drawn interest from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 last summer but the Merseyside giants went on to sign Uruguayan international Sebastian Coates instead.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Serdar-Tasci-c32929 has thus far made 151 league appearances for Stuttgart in the six years he has spent at the club and has found the net on eight occasions. The player has also made 14 appearances for the national team but is yet to
