Tash Hind seizes Women’s 400m IM gold – 2013 NZ Open Championships
Tash Hind of Capital Swim Club seized gold medal of the Women’s 400m Individual Medley (IM) on last day of the 2013 NZ Open Championships in Westwave Aquatic Centre, Auckland, on Thursday, March 21.
The 23-year-old Hind demonstrated her notable efforts in the distant IM discipline as she surfaced on the finishing end for gold medal. With her astonishing pace, she showed no mercy to her opponents on the finishing end and secured the title.
With her gruelling pace, Hind remained in a considerable lead over her opponents and hit the wall for first position with an effort of 4 minutes and 49.80 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Samantha Lucie-Smith of Capital Swim Club, who stayed 3.13 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing end for silver medal by producing a time of 4 minutes and 52.93 seconds.
The second best finisher was traced by Kate Godfrey of Neptune Swimming Club, who stayed 2.04 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing end for bronze medal by producing a time of 4 minutes and 54.97 seconds.
Fourth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Emily McGill of Capital Swim Club, who 0.72 seconds apart and hit the finishing end with an effort of 4 minutes and 55.69 seconds.
Fifth finest spot of the race was obtained by Ali Clareburt of Capital Swim Club, who stayed almost six seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing end with the timing of 5 minutes and 01.03 seconds.
Clareburt was followed by Helena Gasson of Thames Swimming Club, who was 0.36 seconds behind and tapped the wall with an effort of 5 minutes and 01.39 seconds for sixth position.
Seventh fastest spot of the race was obtained by Rachel Smith of Coast Swim Club, who remained one and a half body length apart and tapped the wall with an effort of 5 minutes and 02.62 seconds.
Eighth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Caitlin Rennell of Jasi, who was nearly four seconds apart and tapped the wall with the timing of 5 minutes and 06.27 seconds.
Furthermore, the position holders received medals and accolades at the prize ceremony of the event.
