  1. download from the link below. I have had this before and this fixed it.

  2. Well, I have Services.exe on my task manager too. I dunno why yours is using so much memory. Usually svchost.exe is the CPU and memory hogger...

Another reason is... Did your computer crash unexpectly? Whether it was due to power failure, computer error, etc etc

Follow these instructions, and maybe it will fix it

  4. sounds like a virus of somesort. Try this site, http://delete-virus.com

  5. Service.exe is a legitimate Windows service, but only if it loads from the System32 folder. I copied the following from mvps.org:

The legitimate services.exe file will be present in the following location in a Windows XP system:

    %Windir%\System32

There are viruses and trojans that use the same name as services.exe. In most cases, the bogus services.exe might be present in your Windows folder, and added to the RUN keys so that the Malware loads at every startup.

Note that the legitimate Services.exe does NOT load from RUN key.

It's advisable to run a full system virus scan. Then, remove the traces of services.exe from the RUN (Startup keys) registry keys.

  6. This is the Services Control Manager, which is responsible for running, ending, and interacting with system services.

If yours is running that high it COULD be a trojan or virus, you should use an anti virus or anti spyware program to test it.
