Task at hand: Stacy Lewis keeping a close eye on Yani Tseng

American Stacy Lewis, who stole the show at the Navistar LPGA Classic 2012 last week, will now be heading into an even tougher phase with her pocket significantly heavier than before — as
the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) titan has earned an eye-popping $1,598,596 in the current season.
Although Lewis is gearing up for the upcoming Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia 2012, set to be staged from October 11-14, at Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club, she now seems more interested in taking
over the world rankings than anything else.
Currently ranked second in the Women’s World Golf Rankings, Lewis’s plan, which was to keep winning tournaments a couple of weeks back, has now switched to a big aspiration, as the LPGA phenom
desperately wants to become the world number one golfer.
In order to rise to the top of the world rankings, Lewis will have to surmount a massive obstacle, which is knocking current world number one Yani Tseng off her top position.
Tseng, who is struggling to put her game back on track as she has displayed a grim performance in most of the recent LPGA tournaments, managed to steer clear of a tough resistance from her
rivals. But now things appear to have changed.
With Lewis vowing to become the world number one, Tseng has decided to take her game more seriously than ever before.
Sharing her thoughts while speaking to the LPGA Tour, Lewis said she has done well in the current season, as she has grabbed three victories, but she will do her best to beat Tseng in terms
of world rankings.
With her “sights set” on the world number one golfer, the American stars said that she puts her trust in her game and she thinks her game is good enough to help her achieve her biggest goal.
“I think I've got the game to get there and it’s just got to keep chipping away at Yani’s lead,” Lewis said. “You know, this definitely helps a lot. Going forward just for the rest of this
year, it's the same thing, giving myself a chance to win on Sunday and keep putting myself in contention and let the rest take care of itself”.
Lewis has already beaten Tseng in the Rolex Player of the Year standings for the 2012 season, which reflects that she is keen to move up in world rankings.
