Tasmania; we have got a major sponsor, minor sponsors and can produce talented players, so we dont need to steal all the draft picks from the other teams!

I am so fed up that our men have to move away to play top level footy!

(Dont forget to text your support for Tassie, number on the back of Believe (Mars) Bars!)

GC dont even have a naming rights sponsor yet!

West Sydney; Mr Demetriou is taking money from YOUR CLUBS and spending it on a new stadium with Blacktown City Council! They havent even started a committee for a team yet!

  1. Yes Andrew Demetriou is a fat Greek and is ruining the AFL, someone shoot him in the head before the game is only for -10 year olds.

  2. Demetriou DEFINATELY needs to be replaced. replaced by someone who knows what the football community wants, not what he himself wants. he is obviously putting teams here so he can shut out the competition in the NRL. but why can't he do that by putting teams in EVERY state of the country first??!?! NRL only have sides on the east side of the country, and aussie rules have a chance to have a team in every state. argh its so annoying. wheres my believe bar, im texting in

  3. Definitely Tassie before the other two.

Dim Sim Demetriou is so far out of touch he doesn't even know that seventeen countries have been in Vic contesting the International Cup, the World Cup of Aussie Rules.

The Grand Final between New Zealand and PNG is the curtain raiser to the Hawks Bulldogs game tonight at the MCG. The MCG is opening the gates early for spectators to watch, but Dim Sim has done nothing to promote it. OFF WITH HIS HEAD!!!!!!!

  4. I don't mind Tassie having a AFL team as long as they don't take the Hawks, but I'm still not convinced they can support a team. They lost their NBL team years ago and have no other national teams i know of.

    5 HOURS TO GO.

  5. The Tassie proposal is way ahead of Gold Coast

and soooooooooo far ahead of Sydney, its stupid

Gold Coast dont have any sponsorship deals, and I have heard nothing of the Sydney proposal other than what Andrew himself has said

So why is the AFL continually IGNORING Tasmania??

Spending money in areas which dont even follow AFL, when Tassie is a field ripe for harvest?

a field which has allready produced a "crop" of very talented players?

    Demitriou MUST GO

  6. Tasmania definitely deserve a team, and you're right, their proposal is way ahead of West Sydney, and even the Gold Coast!

I say, keep the Gold Coast team, but don't bother with the West Sydney idea.

Anyway, at least a Tassie team would have a nickname!

  7. Yeah I read today those pathetic "so called" AFL fans in NSW had only bought 16odd thousand tickets to their final yesterday.

Tassie definitely should get a team before the GC or West Sydney.

  8. tassie is a much better option brisbane are struggling with members goals and i just dont see a fan base here. the gold coast just got a new nrl team and now they want this i think demetriou needs to come up here and have a look around before deciding that there is room 4 another afl team in a predominately nrl state wait until brisbane are bursting at the seams with members

  9. Demetriou must be doing a "wonderful" job, heading the AFL, because he was given a huge rise, in his already inflated salary, during the year.

I would put money on that Tassie wont have a team based in their state, during my lifetime. I'm not saying there shouldn't be one there but the AFL wont even discuss the issue - let alone consider locating a team there.

In today's paper the Gold Coast team say they want more concessions than already granted , by the commission, to set up the team.

  10. Tasmania are far more deserving of an AFL team than the Gold Coast.

Don't even get me started on West Sydney.  Why do Sydney people need another team to not give a c**p about.

  11. For immediate success, Tassie is a far better option than either of the other two. But in 20 years time, if promoted well within those regions, both the other sides should have a much greater fan base and more financial support.

Because of this, I think the GC and Wst Syd are prime candidates for a relocated side, and Tassie is perfect for a new team. Tasmanians won't embrace an existing side moving there unless it is the side they support already.

Where as the major fans the AFL will target in Wst Sydney will be the kids - most of them don't follow a side or know the history, so any team moving there will be able to capture their loyalty (theoretically!).

If you want a side in 2012 to debut with a massive following and home grown talent - TASSIE all the way. If you want a 'project' side who will be a force in 20 years - go with Wst Sydney. IMO a Melbourne club should relocate to NSW and Tassie should get the nod.

The Mars deal is ok, but a one off publicity stunt. Tassie needs committed sponsors who will REPEAT their investment every year. Once 'believe bars' leave the shelves - Mars' committment to the club will end.

  12. Tasmania, yes!

    Gold Coast, yes!

    West Sydney, No!

Sydney is the only team for 'sydney' in the afl and it should stay that way.

    Gold coast deserve a team.

Tasmania have some amazing talent and have an outstanding sponser, enabling them to go forward
