Tasmania’s http://www.senore.com/Cricket/George-Bailey-c1480 backs Ben Hilfenhaus’ inclusion in Australia’s squad – Cricket New Update
George Bailey, Ben Hilfenhaus’ skipper at http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Tasmania-c854, believes the pacer can play a big role for Australia in the upcoming four match series against India, starting from Monday, December 26, 2011.
The right-arm bowler was dropped from the side after a poor display against England in the Ashes last year. He struggled with form and fitness for some time, but did well at the domestic level, earning his place back in the national side.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 and Hilfenhaus was named in it. He was really excited on the announcement and vowed to make a big impact against the Men in Blue.
Bailey also has faith in his bowler and said he could be a handy bowler for Australia in the years to come.
According to the Tasmanian captain, “No doubt when he's (Hilfenhaus) at his best he's in Australia's best handful of fast bowlers. Looking at the Test series coming up and where they're going to be in their focus, being in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 in 2013, I still think
he's got a big part to play. It is good to see he's back in the mix.”
Commenting on the bowlers’ performance in 2010, Bailey claimed, “Hilfy last year had become quite predictable. He could replicate the same ball over and over but at Test cricket, once players were in he found it hard to actually break through and get a wicket.”
However, the 28-year-old has brought a lot more variety to his bowling and can surprise the opposition now. He worked hard in State cricket and the results are evident from his bowling.
Hilfenhaus was quite impressive during his outing for Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash Twenty20 League. He was awarded man of the match for a lovely spell of bowling against Perth Scorchers, picking up a couple of wickets for just 10 runs in his four-over
spell.
This performance would have certainly impressed the selectors, who immediately recalled the pacer to the national side.
Australia have experimented with quite a few young seamers in recent times, but it is important for the team to keep a good balance. Hilfenhaus’ inclusion will certainly help the youngsters learn a lot, as the experienced campaigner will be aiming to pass
on some skill to them.
