Question:

Taste buds? Science fair? Help me please?!?

Ok well, here is my situation:

My science fair project is asking people what their favorite chocolate is out of the three. Blindfold them and see what they think about each individual chocolate brand (all are milk chocolate). They say "its creamy, better than the last one," but I need to know what the taste buds are like (creamy is better, cruchy is better). Can you please help me out on anything to do with my science project and taste buds?

You can't imagene how happy I would be.

  1. See if there is a relationship in what people like and how much sugar is in the different chocolates. It should have sugar information where it lists the % of daily requirements.

Also see from the ingrediants if different sugars are used.

  2. I would recommend trying other types of chocolate, not  creamy/crispy.  Those are arbitrary choices that people make ("I like the crispy ones" for instance) Get chocolate with different percentages of natural cacao (milk chocolate has very little, semi sweet has more, and bakers or very dark chocolate has a lot of natual cacao in it) as these are more objective ways to measure taste buds.  Since you have taste buds for bitter and sweet, the choc. with more natural cacao (it's bitter) should highlight those taste buds and the milk choc. (it's sweet) should highlight the sweet taste buds.  Good luck!
