I want to make wings but they have to be very mild (in terms of spicy).

What are some ways to make wings that are tasty but not spicy?

  1. just use frank's red hot sauce. it is not hot

  2. I know it sounds strange, but I like mixing 1 cup bbq sauce to 1/4 cup ranch dressing. It adds a sweetness to it. If you want a little zing, just add a few drops of hot sauce. I make it for my kids, they're pretty little and don't do well with the spicy stuff.

  3. Tomato sauce, grape jelly, onion powder- and jalepeno sauce (just to taste) I know it sounds grody- but it's great!!!

  4. You can use Saucy Susan or duck sauce and add red pepper flakes or hot sauce to that.

  5. I cook this all the time, and everyone always loves them.

Marinate the wings (overnight is best, but for at least a couple of hours) in Soy sauce, minced garlic and onions.

Bake in the oven @ 325  (five pounds takes about an hour)

5 minutes before finishing drain completely and return to oven @ 450

  6. Consider teriyaki or barbecue wings istead of the traditional hot wings.  You can also season your wings with lemon pepper and kosher salt for a wonderful alternative to spicy hot sauce.  Or, you can consider diluting your hot sauce mixture so that you are using more butter and less hot sauce.  You can also purchase mild hot sauce for wings that is made commercially.

  7. Salutations,

I am a Hugh fan of spicy, but something I make for family that is not take your favorite BBQ suace and add chutney or "Saucy Susan" to it. Saucy Susan is widly available on the eastern seaboard, and Fantastic with Chicken. Cheers
