Swansea City defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Tate believes that manager Brendan Rodgers’ move to Liverpool will be a big setback for the Welsh club, but backed him to come up good at Anfield.

According to reports, the Northern Irishman agreed to take the management http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 at Liverpool despite initially turning down the offer-finally halting all the speculations and rumours surrounding the managerial hot seat at Anfield.
The 39-year old re-emerged as the top candidate for the job, after earlier reports had put Wigan Athletic boss http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Martinez-c24468 as the favourite.
Nevertheless Tate, a seasoned Swansea defender, opined that Rodgers departure from the Liberty Stadium will be a big blow for the Swans, and Liverpool have succeeded in securing just about the perfect replacement for Kenny Dalglish.
He also mentioned that his impressive stint with Swansea was bound to catch the attention of top-flight clubs, and he was justified in making a switch to a bigger team.
While talking to reporters, he said: “Once you have a good couple of years, especially with the success we had this year in the Premier League, you expect the manager to be touted for certain jobs.”
Liverpool compiled a paltry 52-point tally last season, which was their lowest since 1954. The owners subsequently fired the Kop legend Dalglish from the management role, in view of the Reds failure to secure a Champions League berth.
However, the 29-year old believed that Rodgers will help the short-of-confidence Liverpool squad rebuild their confidence, and backed him to come up good with his new assignment.
He continued, “He'll be one of those people who will walk into Anfield and just be a breath of fresh air to the players and to the whole set-up that's at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809.”
Rodgers, who took over the management of Swansea in July 2010, enjoyed stupendous success with the Swans during the 2011/12 campaign after masterminding their return to the top division. In total, he managed the Welsh club in 96 matches and compiled 43 wins
during that period.
“He's been fantastic for us and we wish him all the best,” Tate added.
“To lose him now, if the reports are true, is a huge blow.”
