Zimbabwe Wicket-keeper batsman, Tatenda Taiba, has taken a verbal swipe at the current Zimbabwean Board for the lack of infrastructure which has hindered the prospect of potential growth of the game in the country.
The former captain believed that the players are too scared to speak for themselves but believes that someone will have to address this situation in order for cricket to flourish in the region.
He was critical of the administration, which is yet to pay the players their dues since last year.
"I don't think much has changed really, the administration is still struggling to run cricket in the country well,"
He added some more harsh word, “Zimbabwe Cricket has just painted a house that’s about to fall.”
The 28-year-old has been involved in spats with the administration before in 2005, which did not end in a savory manner. In a revolt, he resigned from the captaincy and was forced to leave his home country after many from the administration threatened him.
A vocal figure, his comments might come as a surprise considering the team’s return to the Test arena after an exile of six years.
They are scheduled to play http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754, with youngsters waiting in hope to perform well against the best of the opposition.
The five- feet-five inch wicket-keeper was full of praise for the younger players who come out daily in the nets and give their hearts out for the betterment of the game.
"I can't falter the coaching staff, they've worked really hard and I can't falter the guys. They come in day in and day out but they are not getting much support from the administration unfortunately," he said.
However, it is a great occasion for the Zimbabwean Cricket as they have come on leaps and bounds recently and it’s now up to the players to set up and show that they truly belong to the longer format of the game.
Though the task is difficult, it is not impossible. Under the captaincy of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/BRM-Taylor-c1200 and experienced campaigners like Taibu and Raymond Price, Zimbabwe can surely cause an upset or two, which would do them a world of good.
