Tatiana Kosheleva – the “most productive spiker” of first round of FIVB Women’s World Championship
After the successful completion of first round of the FIVB Women’s World Championship in Japan, Russia’s Tatiana Kosheleva has appeared as the best spiker of the tournament. Kosheleva is a superb hitter in Russian squad and she has played a vital role in
the overall progress of her team. Russia was placed in Pool D along with South Korea, Turkey, China, Dominican Republic and Canada. The team has finished the first round of the championship in top slot, launching their power on everyone else in the squad.
The Russians earned another great honour in the form of Kosheleva, who became the best spiker after first five days of the tournament. She contributed 66 points in 118 attack attempts during first round matches.
The 21-year-old Kosheleva was born out of Russia but she moved to Moscow with her family at a very tender age of 2. Originally hailing from Belarus, the player has settled in Russia now. Kosheleva started her off career with RSSU Moscow in 2004. The girl
had a passion for volleyball and came up with remarkable performances. The hard-work and dedication enabled her to play at the national level in 2007.
Since then, Kosheleva has been making shocking waves. She calls volleyball, her life and has a firm ambition to serve her team for many years. Kosheleva puts duty and responsibility to her work, which has been acknowledged by her team. Kosheleva expressed
her views, “I’m proud to represent the Russian colours. Only a few athletes have the chance to play here. Every day I work hard to assume this responsibility.”
Since the Russian team is also up for top slot in World Championship, Kosheleva is determined to give her best to the team. The Russian squad has cropped out wonderful results in Pool D so far and has proudly marched in the second round of the tournament.
Answering a question concerning overall impression of world championship, Koshelva said, "I personally like the way the USA are playing. A lot of power and excellent teamwork. That's what you need to play for the first spots. I'm sure our team can do the same.
The USA, Brazil and Japan are the best teams here. And for sure Russia."
