Tatkal scheme of Indian Railways on TRAINS?

I intend to book a AC II Tier berth for 2 people under tatkal scheme tomorrow.I am carrying a lot of luggage so I m not travelling by AC III Tier,

I wanted to know whether in Tatkal scheme we generally get a side berth or can I get it in the main area.B'cause if I get a side berth in AC II it hardly makes a difference whether I take AC II or AC III as my priority for booking is my luggage.

If anyone of you has had the experience of booking tatkal tickets(mainly in AC) please revert back!!!

  1. tatkal ticket can be booked 5 days in advance that means if u want a ticket for 13th april u have to book it on 8th of april. While booking the tatkal ticket mention your choice of birth on the application form and then u will get ur choice of birth subject to availability or u can keep some of your heavy luggage in the trains luggage compartment by paying some fees with respect to your luggage weight.U can also mail me if u want more help.

  2. my dear tatkal start five day before excluding the date of journey. for example a train start on 13 th . the tatkal will start on 8th morning 8.00 a.m. and it is not as you will get only side birth you can choose your birth while filling the form and also you can take up to 50 k.g per person only if you have excess then that you can book in the excess luggage in brake van of the train. for that you must reach station some one hour before the depature of the train and book your excess luggage in the brake van.
