I hear A&D ointment is a great product to use on your new tattoo, so I bought mine tonight. I was reading the ingredients though and it has fragrance in it. It also has the two different types of oils in it. I heard its bad to apply anything with fragrance in it to a new tattoo, and what about the oils? It also says to keep it in a 20 degree temperature. Anyone want to help understand this better? Is it still ok to apply the ointment?

  1. I personally use aquaphor but my best friend uses a&d on all of hers and her's heal very quickly!  when I get my next one I'm totally swiping hers lol

  2. Go ahead and use it.  It should be fine.

  3. I've used A&D on all of my tattoos, and they've all healed well. I haven't had any problems with it. I applied it 2-3 times a day for a week to two weeks, and didn't put anything else on it.

  4. I cant rememberthe name  but you want to use the A&D in the brown package its brown and white... also eucerin works wonders...   and i know this sounds crazy but i use noxema cold cream... it smells awful but it helps heal really quick please no vasaline and try to stay away from neosporine

  5. My artist advised me not to use A&D. He told me just to keep it clean and put lotion on it when it got dry. A&D pulls a lot of the ink out of your skin and can fade tattoos pretty quickly. Unfortunately, I used A&D on my first tattoo and that's exactly what happened.
