  1. I have my mon, japanese family crest, on my shoulder blade and a lightning bolt on my wrist, I was 18 then and 19 now, and I love them both to death, but they both mean a lot to me (my mon for obvious reasons and the bolt because me and my friends all got one before we left for college) so I doubt I'll ever regret them. You should think about why you're getting a star in particular because as long as it has meaning, you'll never regret it. I recommend getting it smaller and on your left wrist, that's where I have mine and people don't really notice it because when you think about it, you shake with your right hand, and, if you're right handed, you write with your right so you don't really draw that much unneeded attention to it.

  2. I like mine, I just wish I would have researched who I got mine done by.  The first tattoo I got was a butterfly on my stomach when I turned 18...it looks crappy now, because I didn't go through a reputable artist...I later found out the artist had been shut down and was working as a Walmart greeter...go figure.  My next tattoo is a Yin Yang with Japanese symbols for eternal love and a rose behind it that I got when I was 22 for my 2nd wedding anniversary.  I got it done by a much better artist, and 6 years later it still looks good.

As to whether or not you will like it, you have to figure that out yourself.  1.  Are you going to regret having a tattoo on your wrist when you apply for jobs?  2.  What does the star symbolize/mean to you/why do you want that, and will it still be important in 5 or 10 years?

  3. I got my first 3 tattoos from a shop when I wad 13. I got my fourth when I was 17. I've only regretted 1 tattoo and it was because the guy was a joke and sucked. I'm gonna get it covered, but yeah.. I've regretted it alot.

Stars are so trendy, by the way.

  4. no, i dont regret mine, i got it at 16 and now 20.

what is the meaning behind it? why do you want it?

think what you think is cool now you probably wont think the same in 15 years.  if it has true meaning, then go for it

  5. No you won't like it. My friends mom has one and she hates it now that she is 76. The skin is soooo wrinkled and soggy, you can't even tell if it is a dragon anymore. I wouldn't do it.

  6. I have a huge tattoo on my arm it's of a big beautiful colorful peacock, i was 18 then and still 18 but i wont regret it, and dont yet!!

  7. I have two tattoos. I got one on my lower stomach at 20, and one on my lower back at 30. I love mine. The only thing that I would reconsider if I were you, is the location. It shouldn't matter, but it could influence some people's opinions of you when it's time to get a job. And I wouldn't worry about how it will look when you get old. Everybody else in the nursing home will have a wrinkly tattoo too!

  8. I don't regret either of my 2 tattoos, but they're both where they can be covered up without me having to wear long sleeves or long pants to work for the rest of my life.

If you plan on getting a career eventually, I'd double think the wrist tattoo, unless you don't mind long sleeves for the rest of your life. Many professional places frown upon visible tattoos.

  9. as you age it stretches and fades slightly with your skin. I think since you are so young and you may not like it later. rather get it smaller. because later when you are applying for jobs even though you can conceal it .. it might not be appropriate to be easily seen. anyway good luck and have fun

  10. i had mine for my 16th birthday! it's a butterfly on my shoulder blade, i still love it a year and a half on! i didn't think about it for long, but i thought allot about the future in that short time.

it all depends on what YOU think! only you can peek into your future and see possible problems, some employers don't like visible tattoos, the possibility that you'll hate it . . .  it's totally your choice and yours alone! good luck in whatever you decide! xx

  11. Getting a tattoo is a pretty big step - and a very personal decision. I do not regret my tattoo at all, but it was a very specific idea I had in mind, and designed myself. Your wrist is a pretty obvious place, and while quite a lot of people now have a tattoo (it has lost some of its "pay a nickel to see the tattooed lady" mystique) some places of business frown upon ones placed in areas that aren't easily hidden.

In the end, it's your choice, but please make sure you go to a place with a good reputation that is clean & aesthetic (but if it's your mom's friend I'm sure you'll be ok - can't see her sending you somewhere bad)

  12. I don't have a tattoo, but I'm definitely not "anti-tattoo."  I'd get one myself if I ever felt like the time was right.

I know that my dad regretted the tats he got in the Navy and my brother regretted the one he got in college, but my best friend still loves the fraternity letters he got put on him 20 years ago.

I do however think that if you're going to make a permanent modification to your body like a tattoo, it shouldn't bedone on a whim.  It should be something that has special emotional or spiritual meaning to you: the name of your godchild, a runner symbol to commemorate the year you ran your first marathon, the flag of the country where you had that life-changing international study summer, etc.

If a big star tattoo on your wrist has some special meaning, go for it.  (To me, it smacks of the Dr. Seuss story about the Star-Bellied Sneetches, but to each his own).  If not, I'd hold off until you discover the right thing to symbolize on your body and the right symbol to express it.  No reason you can't get your tattoo a year from now, or 10, or 50.  What's the rush?

  13. I got a wrist tattoo about 6 months ago and I've gone back and forth many times about whether or not I regret it.. I'm 19 right now.. I always said I wanted it to be something that I'd really wanted for a long time before I got it done, and I wanted what I got for a realllllly long time.. I almost got it when I was 16 but decided to wait and I still wanted it almost 4 years later so I got it.. The tattoo artist screwed up slightly, though most people don't notice, I think thats what I regret the most.. Also I didn't see the design until the day of because I gave them a couple things to sketch out and I liked it on paper but not as much when it was actually on.. If you're fully confident with your artist and your design I say go for it, but also remember you're only 17.. I would give it a little time and if you still like it in a couple years then go for it  by all means.. I only get tattoos that I've wanted for a long time, remember it is forever and even if you DO decide to get it removed, it almost looks worse than the tattoo itself because it leaves an outline scar of the original tattoo, and to cover it means a bigger darker tattoo (not that attractive as a wrist tattoo).

  14. I have a tattoo and I love it!  I was 27 (am 28 now) when I got it and I am really glad that I waited, rather than getting it when I was younger since it symbolizes my husband and 2 kids.

I had already decided that I didn't want more than one tattoo, so I put a lot of thought into it before I made a final decision.

If you think that you can see yourself with multiple tattoos in the future, go for it, it will always be a reminder of where you were in your life when you had the tattoo done.

  15. If I were you, I'd get it in a less visible place, and I'd get something that has real meaning to you. If a star does, then get it. But if you just like an image of a star, I'd try to find something less common. Especially since it's a big star you want, not just a tiny one. To me, they are cliche. If you can explain it, OK. If an explanation would be, "I thought it looked cool" I'd keep looking.

  16. My only regrettable tattoo is one that is visible.

Don't get me wrong-- I love the tattoo itself.  But, I wish I would have placed it somewhere that can be easily covered up.  Instead, I'm doomed to wearing long-sleeved shirts every day to work, since I work at a conservative company.

So, please, rethink the placement of it, if you MUST get a tattoo.

  17. I don't regret any of the tattoos that i have. but then again i got tattoos that actually mean something to me, not just at the time but will have meaning when i am older. i am not telling you to not get one or however many you want, just make sure that you want to look at that tattoo for the rest of your life. does the star have a special meaning for your or are you just into it because it seems like the hot thing right now?

  18. I have nine tattoos ( granted they are all small in size) I'm 26 i got my first tattoo on my 18th birthday. If you have any doubts do not get it. They are permanent. Forever. Not going away. If you still really want a tattoo maybe get it someplace less visible so as you get older you and those around you perspective employers, future relationship prospects, don't have to stare at it either.

  19. A lot of regrets happen when a person gets a tat a name of a boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife/signif... other and then they are out of their lives (i.e., Pam Anderson's TOMMY tat became MOMMY, some people aren't so lucky to change only one letter!!!)...if you get a tat remember it's "forever", barring laser surgery removal. Also remember to make sure that needle is sterile, the ink is not reused because viruses can live in the ink, so many cases of viral Hepatitis B and C are contracted that way, two nasty diseases that sometimes have no cure (C especially, B sometimes cures itself, but if it becomes chronic, it's a lifetime of liver worry)...so please be safe, and be wise about it.

  20. Stars are really fashionable right now but think to your self will they still be as fashionable in 10-20 years time?? Get something that means something to you. Not just a pretty design. That way you won't have regrets. Remember there no going back after.

  21. I love my tatoo but it is up high enough on my arm that a short sleeve covers it...I would stay away from anything that you can not cover easily until you are older...alot will change between now and age 20 and 25...;-) peace!

  22. I got my first tattoo when I was 18. I'm 19 now and I still love mine.

I put a lot of thought into what I was going to get done and where I was going to get it.

I think maybe you should do some research and get something meaningful and maybe in a place where jobs cant see and what not.

A star is pretty cliche though unless you do something cool to it and try and tweak it and make it your own....

    Think on this!

    :)

Tattoo's are awesome if there unique.

  23. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

Have a look at mine, like i say on my back at 7" by 6"

Im 19 and had it done 3months ago, and i dont think ill ever regret it. It might be big but its easy to cover up, and i mite even add to it if i feel the need.

    Its completely up to you.

Do you want to be able to cover it up? Don't you?

Are you sure you'll like it 10 years from now?

The usual questions, But u go with ur gut instinct. Its probably the best. :)

    Happy Tattooing!

  24. Ok, please stop and think about it, first.  I have many tattoos and they are all very visible.  i am also 25 years old and the career that I have chosen doesn't care about my tattoos.  I would highly suggest waiting to get any visible tattoos until you know which direction your life is going to take you.  I also think, if you are asking an opinion on this, that you might be having second thoughts and if you are having second thoughts.....post pone gettting this tattoo.  Wait until you are 100% sure you want it and are ready it and all the consequences it brings (b/c, yes, there are consequences).  I think you should wait.  then you might be inspired by something later in life that'll mean more to you than just a star...Just think about it.

    good luck.

  25. Heyy :)

I got my fist tattoo when I was 19. I got a small black moon with blue stars running through it and around it on my shoulder blade. I always think about when I get older, and wonder if I will still like it. I really don't know though. I'll have to wait and see.

I think a single star is cute idea for a tattoo! I eventually want to get a really small star on my foot by my pinkie toe like Kate Hudson, lol. Anyway, I "personally" don't think you should get it too big b/c your wrist is a small area. It's up to you though.

Also, if you ever do get bored with it, you can always cover it up with something new. Hope I helped! :) Have funn!

  26. Heyyy, i have a small tribal band around my arm and i dont regret it but i do want to get it extended and it is gonna be hard because of the design but im hoping i can.

My advice is if you want a tatto go for it but get something that could easily be covered up or changed if you want to change.

  27. I have sleeves, a back job and a chest piece. i started when I was 17 and am still going at 38.

I never tell anyone to either get or not get tattooed. It is your body, only you can answer that question. Just make sure you get one because YOU want to, not to look cool, fit in etc.

  28. i wouldn't get the tatttoos i got when i was 16 or 17 now, but i don't regret them because they're in places that i can easily cover up. i'd get it, just not in such an obvious place. a wrist tattoo can seriously impair your ability to get a job in the future.

  29. I got a star tattoo last year when i was 18, I love it, did think about o it might stretch this that and the other, but sometimes you gotta try these things just for the experience. You're only young once...

  30. I have a tattoo, and I got it when I was a junior in college.  I have wanted one since I was a sophmore in high school.  Make sure that it is a design that you can live with for the rest of your life.  I love my tattoo, but I am thinking that maybe when I have kids I will not want it any more and maybe it will embarrass my kids.  It is on you for life just remember that and make an educated decision.  Just cause it is a fad now, it may not be in a few years.

  31. If you're having any doubts, don't do it.  I've got eight tattoos (including a full-sleeve in process) and have had numerous tattoo ideas come and go.  The ones that go are the ones that I'm glad I didn't get.  Everything I've got, I'm happy with.  (The one piece of flash-art I got had to be worked over twice before I was happy with it.)
