Tattoo artists and Doctors! or anyone else?

ok. this is random i know, but what happens if you get a tattoo and your allergic to the tattoo ink? does anyone know? I'm just curious

  1. Well you would have to go to the doctor and then depending on the severity of the reactions either a round of steriods or even laser removal.  


  2. My tattoist said that the most common ink to cause allergic reactions are reds.

    There are two allergic reaction types:

    1 - the skin will naturally expel the red ink during the healing process

    2 - the ink stays and causes the skin to be continously itchy and raised (never going down).   If this is the case, the only way to get rid of it is very costly and painful laser removal.

    Try to stay away from red inks.

  3. sometimes the tattoo will completely peel off and leave a huge scar. but thats very rare.
