Tattoo at 15 in New Jersey? =]

Does anyone know if its illegal to get a tattoo at age 15 in New Jersey? My mom said she would consent & sign papers;]

I'm not sure if it is legal or not in america to get a tattoo. But i would recommend holding off until your early 20's. Let your body finish developing. The last thing you want is to gain fat or muscle and cause the tattoo to stretch

you have to be at least 16 with parental consent, but most reputable artists won't touch you regardless until you turn 18.

wait until then, your body will be done growing and you can go somewhere you know will be clean.

its legal with parents permission... though i dont reccomend it, in 10 years you will hate it, in 50 years, it'll be wrinkly

I'm almost positive that it's illegal to get tattooed anywhere in the US before your 16.  (And that no decent tattoo parlor would do it before then.)  Then when you are 16, you need parental consent, still.  It's not really that long of a wait.  Even if it's an entire year...if you REALLY want this tattoo you'll be able to deal with the wait.

New Jersey Tattoo Laws

2C:40-21. Tattooing and body piercing of minors

A person commits a disorderly persons offense if he knowingly tattoos or engages in body piercing of a minor under the age of 18 years without first having obtained the written permission of the minor's parent or legal guardian or, if neither exists, a person who stands in place of a parent.

your mom should be a better mother and have you wait till you can legal do it on your own.

too many teens get tattoos only to not like them a few months or years down the line- then they are stuck getting a cover up or laser removal
