I just got a lower back tattoo done yesterday, and I am leaveing for a weekend beach trip next friday afternoon. Is there a certain type of sun protection that would be good to use? I know swimming in the ocean is out of the question but it would have been one week.

  1. Definitely keep it covered if youre going to be in the sun, either put a nonstick gauze pad on it and tape it or wear a shirt.

  2. no swimming for a month

avoid sun potection at all costs, dont drown it in sunblock though as this could s***w up the tattoo as well

  3. keep it covered one week is not long enough for a tattoo to heal and you don't want it to be faded

  4. Um, I'm not sure about the sun protection, but tattoos don't react well to sun, so try keep a airy shirt on. And yes, don't go swimming, I'd wait 10 days to 20 days.

  5. the tattoo artist that did my tattoo said keep it covered in the sun for 7-10 days ( until all the scabs are gone)  no swimming for the same length of time. once all the scabs are gone you are safe. you need to keep it covered. good luck...you don't want to ruin the tattoo
