Question:

Tattoo-one sitting vs. two?

I'm getting a memorial tattoo. I really want to get it all done in one sitting(which I've already cleared with my artist). But it's gonna take several hours and do you think it would be cheaper to do it in two sittings instead. I have a tight college schedule, but I'm also tight on money.

Suggestions?

  1. It'd be easier to just get it done in one sitting, that way it'll heal all at once two. Just talk to the tattoo artist and maybe arrange for there to be a 30 minute break during the session.

  2. Ask your artist what the total cost will be and then ask him to split that in half if you do two sittings. I would probably do two. Get the outline done and then the color later if it's that kind of tat.

  3. It should cost the same, no matter one sitting or two.  Unless he charges by the hour, which, depending on the situation, of course, is silly (just my opinion).  I've gotten all of mine, even the ones that took hours, all done in one sitting .... especially the one on my forearm, if I hadn't gotten it done all at once, I would have never gone back and gotten it colored in!  Lol.

  4. a good artist will charge about the same for either or, once the final product is done. It's more, do you want the instant gratification of having the tattoo complete and be able to  move on to the next piece or do you want to give your skin a chance to heal a bit before you finish the tattoo making it easier to heal the whole tattoo. Your right about worryin about gettin the color finished too. lol i have several pieces on me that i decided to do in two sittings, but instead of getting one finished when i go back, i just get a new piece.

  5. Do the cheapest option
