Question:

Tattoo over a large area?

From observation and research I've noticed that most people with sleeve, stocking, and body suit tattoos have only one to three substantially sized images within the piece (for continuity). Is it distasteful for a sleeve/stocking/body suit to include many smallish images, or is it truly too "patchy"?

PS- Pictures with your explanations would be a plus!

  1. A series of related tats can make up a great sleeve, back piece etc. but larger tats with filler is pretty common. It is what you want and like and what your artist can do to make it what you want. Also, if you do a series of related subjects with the same artist who knows what you are doing, you can usually pay as you go with each segment.

    Some examples:

Girl with red heels has only larger motifs which I like because they are "old school" and similar to my back tats.

Shows various larger tats and Asian themed:

    Cherry blossom over larger areas:

    Hope it helps!
