i have a tattoo on my back i realize i mean i love it but i really want a different tattoo. ok so i heard from someone that you can tattoo another tattoo over a tattoo you already have...is that true? my tattoo now is pretty faded and 2 small parts have color. the tattoo i want will be about the same size a little bigger and with vibrant color. all i want to know is if it is possible to tattoo over my tattoo without having to pay alot of money to have it removed before.

  1. The worst case scenario is finding your ink on someone else.

Go to a website like http://www.theartoftattoo.net where they offer you thousands of designs for twenty bucks.  It is not free but it is pretty d**n close.

I sincerely hope that this helps you and would hope that you can choose me as a best answer since I am new and need the points.

  2. You can, but depending on what you have it can either be changed or will have to be a cover up. Cover ups are almost always bigger and darker than the original so see several tattoo artists for suggestions of what can be done then decide if it is worth it or not.

Here are some before and after pics to give you an idea what can be done:

    Hope it helps!

  3. Yes, you can definitely have a tattoo put on over another tattoo. It may not look the way you want it, though, so go for a quality tattoo artist and make sure that they understand exactly what you want and can assure you that it will turn out that way.
