Tattoo Help!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!...

I really want to get a tattoo but I want to make sure that it is something I am going to want for the rest of my life! I have had several ideas, but still can't decide...

I thought about a cherry blossom vine... to symbolize the fact that life is fleeting. I try to live my life by the fact that you never know when it will be your last day.

Also, I thought about a swallow for my husband. I am a loving and devoted Army wife. My husband is currently serving 15 months in Iraq and he plans on making a career of it. His current MOS is Infantry. I am not sure if the swallow is appropriate because it originated in the Navy.

I really want it to have significance and personal meaning. So.. any ideas of what to do would be greatly appreciated!

** This will probably be the only tattoo that I get so it has to be just right!

  1. I love the cherry blossom idea. Every time I see it, I love love love it.

  2. i think either one is a good idea.

you could do a cherry blossom branch with a yellow ribbon twined in it.

you can have the swallow too with a small cherry branch and yellow ribbon in it's beak

    - remember the swallow means land is near- ie near home/close to home. so it isn't just a maritime tattoo. it's for anyone who wants someone special to know they are their home and always near them

  3. i know i know i know! you should get the swallow, with a yellow ribbon in its beak, to signify that he's deployed, ( you know like ppl put out yellow ribbons for millitary ppl that are deployed) then on the ribbon you could have something sweet that he has said in one of his letters maybe.
