Question:

Tattoo to commemorate my wedding & honeymoon?

I have some old work that I need to cover & I'd like to start with my ankle & calf.

We just got married in Maui, Hawaii so I was thinking of getting some Plumeria & Hibiscus with a Koi fish swimming upstream. I wanted to have the saying "Kipona Aloha" which means deep love.

My husband is the artist who will be doing it but he says this is unimaginative. I disagree. What would you do? Maybe a full beach scene? Or a coral reef with fish & turtles?

He says that I need something extraordinary & challenging because everyone will know he did it & he doesn't want lame work on me. :-(

This would definitely have alterations but this would be the main look for the Koi fish:

P.S. I'm posting here because I just realized everyone in the tattoo category is asleep :-)

  1. i think its pretty, however koi is a very popular tattoo.

i would have your husband design something a little more unique...

  2. I think it's a great idea, but it would need to be pretty big. He could really do alot with the waves, because Japanese style waves are very particular and quite pretty. The koi has so much opportunity to POP! One of my friends had a large koi on her upper thigh, and it was one of the top five most beautiful tattoos I've ever seen!

Tell him that he should take your idea as a challenge and he should make it extraordinary with his talent!

    :)

    Good Luck!
