Question:

Tattoo touch-up question - an entire black line is almost gone one week after getting it!?

I got five stars on my back last saturday, approx. a week ago. Three are double outlined with color inside the outline and two are small just empty black stars. i have followed the after-care instructions exactly, using the kind of liquid soap and lotion they recommended. I noticed yesterday that one of the lines making up one of the black hollow stars is almost all the way gone. Imagine the star was drawn with a sharpie marker, it looks like one line was drawn with a ballpoint pen. Everything I have read said you can't get touch-ups for 4-6 weeks. I wouldn't consider this a touch-up because there is practically nothing there.

Also, I know the colors will change as it heals, but currently the blue and teal stars look identical. everyone i see and show it too asks why i had two stars the exact same color. i plan to have the teal one gone over with green to make it more distinct. is 4-6w enough time to wait? can I get the line fixed sooner?

  1. Two weeks is recommended for most people before a touch-up sitting. Most people are completely healed by then. The tattoo is easy to fix, don't worry so much. Enjoy your new ink!

  2. i got my tattoo touched up after only about 2 maybe 2.5 weeks...i think it depends on how fast you are healing. i had to get the color touched up because my blue and green looked very similar much like your stars and the ink just didnt take in certain parts.

i would call your artists and see what he/she says.

  3. Is it possible the artist just didn't tattoo that specific line and that they just left the carbon copy line on your skin instead?

This actually happens more often than you'd think.
