  1. Yeah i've noticed a lot of stereotyping with tattoos-not just the level of education but everything to do with the person who has them. It seems to be assumed that people with tattoos are drunken louts or tramps. I have 11 tattoos (so far!!!) yet i'm a mum of 3, stay at home mum, who is sat here wearing a fluffy white jumper fluffy socks and comfy jeans. I would be quite happy to spend an evening watching a chick flick or a comedy and seldom go out drinking (only been out twice this year in fact!!!).

Stereotypes suck...Maybe us awesome tattooed folk can prove them wrong?!?

  2. I think that people should get tattoos if they feel mature enough to be able to take care of it and not regret it. I've seen some people get one in high school, and others wait until they are nearly 50.

I don't think that the level of education has to do with anything.

  3. no, there are freaking cardiac and neuro surgeons who have tattoos.  Its a stupid myth that people seem to still believe.

I'm currently studying for my BA in film and I've got 4 tattoos so far and planning a good deal more including back pieces and sleeves.  However, I still enjoy reading philosophy and I'm involved in politics and am fairly well read.

  4. Tattoos are a personal form of art. It doesn't matter what level of education your at. I'm in college-slowly working towards my masters and getting a tattoo this week! :P

  5. tattos have nothing to do with a person's lvl of education.

    that is nothing but stereotyping.

  6. I think that tattoos are stupid and gross no offense to anybody. Like seriously when your older it will get wrinkled and if you want it removed it scarrs and hurts

  7. It's pretty sad, but there are a lot of people who try to make that connection. I think it has more to do with the "gangsta" culture that has popped up in the last decade or so. You do see a lot of "thugs" with tats walking around that are high school drop outs and losers.

However, with the modern culture embracing tattoos as a form of expression, there are many well educated and responsible people with ink. My wife is a retired home economics teacher and runs her own craft business (full upper back tat) and, although I dropped out of college, I make it my mission in life to study and research  anything and everything that interests me (I found formal education very difficult, kind of like organized religion to me). I run 3 businesses (real estate, internet sales, and artist) and have plans to get my right arm sleeved out.

Education has nothing to do with tattoos. Don't judge a book by its cover!

  8. this is because of all the gangster drop outs who get their neck, hands and forarms tattooed with their name that this happens. If you contribute to society no one notices the negative aspects of your person.I know of two professors whom are tattooed quite heavily,so blame it on teenage thugs.

  9. I try not to say that there are no such things as dumb questions but that is pretty dumb. Someone having tattoos has nothing to do with their education. I have 11 tattoos and I manage a very busy pediatric clinic. I have my BSN and working on my MSN as we speak. My husband is a Restraunt owner and he to is completely tattooed. He has his Bachelors in Business and accounting.

  10. I have 17 tattoos. I finished high school and joined the army at 17 and did 20 years. Stereotypical I know however one of my mates has a masters and more tattoos than me.

  11. I have tattoos, and want more.

I'm from the UK, have 9 GCSEs, 3 'A' levels, a university degree and now work as a lecturer in a Further Education College.

  12. first off, thats just stereotyping.

I have 2 tattoos and more to come and im in college for my undergrad degree and i plan to go back for my masters.

  13. I graduated summa *** laude with my BA.

I have over 60 hours of ink.

EDIT: oh my. that word was blocked out.
