  1. Taurus has come a long way with the quality of their products.  The PT-99 has been used by many police and military units across the globe.  It has definitely proven itself.  I have to agree with the first poster regarding the caliber though.  I'm not fond of the 9mm.  It gets the job done, but not as well as the .40 S&W or especially the .45 ACP.  Sorry for ranting.  To answer your question-Yes, I think that it sounds like a good deal with the exception of the armor piercing rounds.  Do your self a favor, GET RID of these rounds.  If you are caught with them, you will not like the consequences.  If you are in law enforcement, however, check your department's policy on carrying them.

  2. The Taurus is okay, but is not the best weapon out there.  Also, the "clips" as you call them are actually magazines.

  3. The Taurus Pt 99 is overall a very good weapon. A friend of mine has had one for a few years and loves, despite the tons of lead he has fired down range with it he has not had a malfunction. Of course he keeps it clean. I have fired it a few times and while I will admit I like my 40 cal USP a lot better it is a nice weapon (for a 9mm). That is truly the only knock I have against it, I am no fan of the 9mm round, but if your just looking for a good deal on a sidearm go for it.
