First of all Taurus, Leo, and Aquarius are "fixed" signs meaning that they are stubborn, once they set their mind to do something that is it!  So generally two fixed signs together can be a bomb ready to blow up, but if you both are stubborn enough to make it work then anything is possible.

So back to you question it seems that an Aquarius would fit you better in my opinion because you being a "Fire" sign and her her being an "Air" sign is a better fit.  The elements fire and air go togther better than Fire and Earth.
