Anyone else think he might actually have improved. Yes it was preseason but he did go 8 of 11 for 118 yards and a touchdown. Against Seattle's first string defense. Anyone else think the vikings actually to him to become the QB they need. Its just a theory but if the entire vikings organization is so high on Jackson. He must be better than we all think.

  1. Wow jackson played good against second and 3rd/4th stringers. and he played decent. imagine if he plays against 1st stringers.

  2. Minnesota Viking will win the NFC North

I think T.Jackson is going to end up going 310 for 400 (18 tds)(12 ints)

  3. put the bottle down.  yes qb jackson had a good preseason game but dude all qbs have good games int he preseason. the question is whether or not he can get it done when the games start to count. the vikings team is loaded from top to bottom and they play in a weak division.   i'm not saying he's not going to be good and all but its no secret that the vikings wanted brett favre until they got caught w/ their hand in the cookie jar. dont believe the vikings when they said they didnt want favre, they wanted favre bad!!!! the question is whether or not the qb can play well to take them to the next level?

  4. I think he has the potential to be a good QB, people just can't seem to give him a chance.

This will be his second season as a starter.  Give the guy a chance before you string him up.

  5. I'm looking for a 2,300 PassYds, 17 TDs, 11 Ints, Type year from him. He only has room for improvement...and after watching him connect to Bernard Berrian for some reason brought memories of Duante Culpepper connecting to Moss, I understand it's a long shot...but if you think about it, Tarvaris Jackson can throw the ball literally 70 yards and thats where Bernard Berrian is perfect at catching...he catches bombs

  6. When a guy is the best option any particular team has of course they sell the public on how high they are on him. In practical terms his first game was statisically very nice but in real terms it really means nothing. It was against the 1st string defense, one that ran base scheme with straight up man or zone and no line stunts. These guys are just getting their work in and the coaching staff is grading them only on positioning early in camp...this is standard practice in the NFL. It is the reason bad teams tend to have better preseason records than the true contenders, they need to establish winning right from the start while the better teams only work on positioning and not giving away blocking schemes. The Vikings very wisely took advantage of the base defense and gave Jackson easy passing assignments to build confidence, the smart thing to do. He has a lot to prove yet but to thier credit they are doing everything possible to help him succeed.

  7. Considering their options what else is the Vikes organization going to say? 'We think Tavaris is a joke as an NFL QB but we have no choice so we're going to back him'?  OF course they will publicly support Jackson but the reality is that he is not a very good QB and the Vikes will undoubtedly rely heavily on their running game this year and just hope Jackson doesn;t lose games for them.

  8. i think he did improve, i think people need to lay off this guy, he's still very young and never even faced top competition at the college level...he's going to be fine, people just need to give him time, he was unfairly criticized last year because effectiveness at quarterback was the one thing that kept the vikings out of the playoffs
