Tax Refunds as a dependent?

As a dependent do i need a Social security number to get benefits at the tax refunds?Or do i just need IRS number?

  1. Dependant do not get refunds.


  2. What are you calling an IRS number?  The IRS uses social security numbers to identify people.  If you don't have a ss# but do have an ITIN and filed your return with that, then you'd still get your refund if you have one coming.

    You are not eligible for a stimulus payment.

  3. Dependents are not eligible for the tax "rebate" also called the "stimulus" checks.

    Dependents who had taxes withheld or who qualify for certain credits can receive refunds.  You can file using an ITIN (individual taxpayer identification number) if you do not have a social security number.
