  1. All good answers - I have nothing to add

  2. Your MOT has to be valid on the date the road tax starts.

Same goes for insurance - even if you buy your road tax for your car early - the insurance must still be in force on the date the road tax starts. (ie if you try to tax your car on 27th August - which would start 1st September - if your insurance or MOT run out between 27th August and 1st September, the Post Office will not tax vehicle)

  3. No - as long as the MOT is valid on the day that the tax comes into force (not the day you buy the disc) it's covered.

So if your MOT runs out on, say, the 29th of August, you couldn't get a tax disc now to run from the 1st of September.

  4. no as long as its a current MOT thats all that matters

  5. no you do not have to have two months mot on your car to tax it.I think that you need to have valid mot for the start of the month which  you want the tax to start from (current mot)

  6. as above

  7. In fact the MOT has to be current on the first day of the new tax disk.
