Hillary claims that McCain's proposed tax cuts favor the elite. At what point will liberal politicians realize that they, based on their income a station are part of that elite?

Doesn't Hillary realize that she is one of the "super rich" that she talk so much about?

  1. She realizes that and she recognizes that she and people like her should carry more of the tax burden.

Same with guys like Warren Buffet and many other of the richest Americans who say that people like him should be taxed more.

At what point will conservatives realize that "super rich" people can afford to pay higher taxes.

  2. If I make 500 dollars a month and have to pay 20% of that in taxes, then I pay a lot more in taxes than those who make 500.000 a month and pay 20% in taxes---there is a big difference if I have only 400 dollars left to make ends meet or 400.000 dollars.

  3. Hillary supported the war when her constituency didn't want her too.

    That's just bad business.

Now she owes $8 million to her creditors.

She's no better at finance than George Bush.

  4. Yes she is, and so she agrees that she doesn't deserve a tax cut.  What's your point?

  5. tax cuts favor the tax payers

  6. She also refuses to release tax returns. I have had a few unsuspecting Libs give me secrets on how to invest overseas to avoid tax penalties here. I think the money is hiding overseas where its untaxed here. Probably China, knowing her. You cannot cut taxes for people who dont pay them. Lib Elites cannot allow middle class to suceed because elite lose power. If you are elite, you gained that power the capitalist way thru education and work ethics or the socialist way by litigation and frivlous lawsuits against the elite.

  7. bull

  8. Yeah, but you see.. when you're a liar. You don't have to care

  9. That's the point, most Dem's will pay their fair share of the taxes, where as Rep's want the middle class to paid more.

Yes, I am dead serious, and for your information most Rep's don't paid more taxes then Dem's.  The south is the highest areas of welfare states.  Look it up.

  10. Uh, yes, when you keep cutting taxes payed by the people who have most of the money, that favors the elite.

Yes, she knows her income, and realizes that she'd have to pay more if the previous cuts were rolled back.

I've seen quite a few beneficiaries of Bush's tax cuts deplore them, and say they'd rather pay, than see their country destroyed by refusing to tax the rich. (Bill Clinton was one of these -- said he'd be happy to forgo the cuts.)

I'm pretty sure she's not "super rich" -- but is beyond Middle Class.

SOME people have a conscience. That may be hard for you to understand. SOME people, even those with a lot of money, believe that everyone should pay their fair share of tax. Currently, the people with most of the money do not; those with little money, pay most of the tax, and get no services in return.

    That's clearly not right.

  11. You make a good point.

Here's another obvious point: You can't cut the taxes on people who don't pay them (the "poor" can't benefit because of this)...therefore, any tax cuts for people who do pay them tend to be favorable to that group.  The wealthy pay 85% of all taxes in this country.

  12. I am sick and tired of hearing tax debates based on "fair share" and "they can afford it" !!

    What happen to this country!!??

If you listen to what is said by dems , if you make 30k you are rich! You can afford to pay the taxes!!

What happen to the idea of Liberty and Freedom in this country!!?? The PEOPLE are the ones that work for their money and its theirs first not the governments!!

  13. Novice, if you make 500 a month you don't pay any taxes.

Sure, they take it out of your check every week, but you get it back at the end of the year (probably even more with tax credits, etc.)

The poor DO NOT pay taxes, therrefore the only ones who can get a tax cut are the "rich".

  14. Tax Cuts like in capitol gains..........that serves EVERYONE, from the elite on down.  Think of anyone who was to sell his/her home, that is capitol gains.  Think of seniors living on their pension, the sale of any stock/bond or the like is capitol gains.  WAKE UP.  Further more, those who own small business's put back money into their companies, they also then hire, or pay for health care.  If they tax these people, watch the unemployment roles greatly increase.  If you believe in Hitlary's and Obama's tax increases you will in the end bite your own nose off.

  15. Congress: Rank-and-File Members' Salary

The current salary (2006) for rank-and-file members of the House and Senate is $165,200 per year.

    • Members are free to turn down pay increase and some choose to do so.

That tells me they all make more than the minimum wage which is what they expect people to survive on.

Guaranteed cash like that for four years is elitist rich to me.

I do not mind paying taxes for the stuff that needs doing, roads, sewers , education and parks. But do we really need a 3 Billioin $ airplane researched and never built. No.
