Can the Taxation Office tell how much you will be able to recieve approximately, before lodging.?

  1. You will need to lodge your return before they can give any idea.

    However, they do receive all your income details from other sources, as well as from you.  So they are able to cross check that you have given them all the info.


  2. It's not clear why you're asking this question. If you want to get an estimate of your tax refund, you can go to the ATO website's tax calculator and work it out - it's very easy to do.

    If you're asking if the ATO knows how much you've earned and how much tax you've paid, the answer is yes because your employer/s are required to submit that information to them. The ATO would normally only access the information when you lodge a tax return to ensure that you've correctly included all earnings.
