Um is there anyone who knows a good website where I can input my current year to date totals on my income and taxes taken out so I can get a rough estimate on how much I may or may not be getting back so far? I do have aditional money being taken our so I'm expecting money back however I wanted to know how far ahead I am now cause times are tough and I kinda want to reduce the money comming out of my check depending on what my estimate return is already this year.

  1. I agree with the previous answer that you could use 2007 Forms or a 2007 calculator, but this website has a 2008 calculator that you could also use: http://www.dinkytown.net/java/Tax1040.ht...

    I hope this helps.

  2. Sorry I don't know of a web site.  You might try filling out a 2007 income tax return using this years income and withholding information to get a idea.

  3. I use Form 1040-ES for that.

  4. You can go to the IRS website and use their Withholding Calculator.  Here's the link:

As you fill in information, it will ask questions on credits you may be eligible to claim. There's work related child care credit, child tax credit, and other credits, such as: education credits, and earned income credit.  Use last year's figures as an estimate if you like.  The questions related to deductions apply to those taxpayers who itemize their deductions.

Have your last pay stub handy showing your pay to date, and withholdings to date.  Good luck.
