Tax return for new york state?

i am the age of 16 and i worked at a job for checks. my tax return is done by my mother so i am dependent. how can i make it so i get money back from the taxs taken out of my checks?

Claim zero dependents.  Depending on how much you make you can also elect to have additional money taken out each pay period.

It depends on how much you made.  You might get back part or all of what was withheld for income tax.  You won't get back what was taken out for social security and medicare.
