Tax return on rental income?

I am a PAYE employee.

i want to know when am i required to fill the tax return for the income i am getting from renting out my house for the period May2007-march2008. i started renting house from may2007

If you haven't received a tax return form yet, you are required by law to notify HMRC, by 5 October 2008, that you had income from property in the year ended 5 April 2008.  You do not need to give details at that stage.  If - as seems highly likely! - they want to know how much, they will send you a tax return form.  You then get three months from the date the return is sent to you, to fill it in and send it back.
