I have Polymyositis and Scleroderma,I would like to buy the cardio twister to help maintain what muscle strength I have left. Can this be a tax write off, if so what information do I need to get from my doctor? Thanks

  1. I agree with the 2nd answer.

    I wish you well.

  2. Even with a doctor's prescription, this would be a difficult writeup.  Exercise equipment generally isn't considered a medical deduction for the cure of a disease.

  3. You would need something from a medical professional that supports the medical need for that equipment.  Even with that there is no assurance that the IRS would not deny the deduction as exercise equipment is generally not a medical deduction.  If you do not normally take itemized deductions it would not make a difference in any case.
