im 20 years old and im at uni but i also work.

can i get tax back?

  1. Depends how much you have earned. It's a myth that students are exempt from tax. Last year you could earn £5225 per annum before tax was deducted. Currently it is £5435, going up to £6035 in September, when that will be retrospective back to 6th April (the start of the tax year)

    If you have form P60 up to last 5th April, imput details in www.listentotaxman. If it appears you are due a refund, send form P60 to tax office, together with a full employment history from 06/04/07 to 05/04/08. You can do that on form P91. Download from www.hmrc/p91.

  3. No. You'll be paying a lower grade tax than everybody else btu everyone has to pay tax on their earnings.
