    You can amend your 2007 taxes.

  5. No, they can only be deducted on your 2007 tax return.  However, if it's going to make enough difference to bother, you can amend your 2007 tax return.  Just make SURE you have correct documentation if you do this, as it might send up a red flag.

    In most cases, it's not going to result in enough of a refund to bother with the hassle of preparing an amended return, or paying for someone to handle it for you, so keep this in mind.
