  1. Well I think it is too expensive these are the option you can have

1Train you must go to Salerno first then from Salerno: SITA bus to Amalfi/Positano

2 Circumvesuviana (which is an inner train) from Napoli, inside the Central Station

3SITA bus strigth from Napoli (also near to the Central Station)

    4 Ferry (from the port)

    5 Taxi

1 This is easy since you take the train to Salerno and then from there take the bus to Positano, you pay a bit more then option 2 and have to make sure to take the connecting bus, anyway all are scheduled so with a bit of planning can be done.

2 this is relatively cheap and easy since there are scheduled train every day. It is advisable not to take the train late in the day (aprox 5 Euro per person)

3 this is the cheapest, also easy to get but you must make sure to take the right one, so unless you don't speak a bit of italian this could be a bit problematic. (aprox 3 Euro)

4 This is relatively expensive, and you mast get to the port, it however a nice trip since you see the all bay, there are scheduled ferries and there is also a web site where to check

5 This is the most expensive way to get there, yon may even go for for 100 Euro.

Anyhow did you check with your hotel if there is a pick up service, normally it should be it or it could be arranged (however this also could be expensive)

  2. It would take a little over an hour.  cost depends on the taxi if its a service it might be regulated but can't be too expensive.  another idea is take a boat or hydrofoil
