  1. I don't know what  the above post is referring to with the tunnel, to go to Brooklyn by Cab you will take the Verrazanno Bridge.

The taxi rate is$ 2.50 to start, $2 per mile thereafter, or 40 cents per minute if moving slower than 12mph.  Since it is approximately 25 miles from JFK to the Brooklyn end of the bridge, you ahve to figure a minimum of $70 including Toll and tip.

  2. toll is $10 for verezano bridge

toll is $5 for brooklyn battery tunnel

there's another way to get to brooklyn at no cost, but if it's during rush hour you might as well take the tunnel, because if you take the free bridge, you're going to end up paying the $5 for siting in traffic for quite a while.

I'm guessing the entire trip will cost you about $70 but this all depends on where from Manhattan and where to Staten Island you are going.

Make sure you mention to the taxi driver to take the tunnel if there's traffic on the bridge. He will know, and you will know if there's traffic because you take the same highway anyways. (FDR Drive)

  3. While I don't know the exact charge, you can expect that the fare from JFK to Staten Island is going to be quite high.  The travel time will be at least an hour, plus the taxi will have to pay for the toll over the Verazzano bridge.  Also, the roads that the taxi will have to take tend to be quite crowded, so you can expect delays.

  4. My friend, it depends on what part of Staten Island you're going. Taxis here charge by the meter rates.

    Good luck
