Full-back, Taye Taiwo has revealed that he rejected the interest from Real Madrid to join the Italian Champions, A.C Milan, in the summer.
Taiwo joined the Rossoneri on a free transfer after his contract with Olympique Marseille expired after the end of the 2010/11 season. The Nigerian has struggled with injuries and poor form in his short stint at the San Siro thus
far.
The defender revealed that he had always dreamt of playing in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 that is why he rejected Real Madrid interest. The left-back is confident that he made the right decision to join Milan and is hoping to prove it right with his
performances.
Taiwo admired Milan’s history and believes that they have some class individuals at their disposal and he feels honoured to play for them.
While talking to the reporters, Taiwo said, “I chose Milan because to play in Italy was always a dream of mine. Real Madrid also tried to sign me, but I am sure that I made the right decision in saying yes to Milan. It’s great
to be here surrounded by so many champions and I want to stay for some years to come.”
The 26-year-old admitted that the playing style in Italy is very different to what he used to play in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899. He added that the Ligue 1 is much more physical while Serie A demands technique.
“Football is more physical in France. In Italy, things are more tactical and I need to improve my movement off the ball.”
Massimiliano Allegri’s men have witnessed a relatively slow start to the defence of their league title but they are on top of their group in the UEFA Champions League. Taiwo is confident that Milan can successfully defend their
league title and can also go onto win the Champions League.
“As for Milan, I think that we can win both the Italian championship and the Champions League.” added the Nigerian international
The full-back has made 3 appearances for the Italian Champions so far this season and has been disappointing so far.
Milan will play their next game against Parma on Wednesday, October 26, 2011.
