Taylor Knox and Michel Bourez emerge triumphant in Round 3 at Vans World Cup of Surfing
America’s Taylor Knox and French Polynesia’s Michel Bourez were among the list of surfers who successfully secured their place in the fourth round (Round of 32) at the Vans World Cup of Surfing, which continued at Sunset Beach in Oahu, Hawaii, on Monday,
December 3, 2012.
Knox claimed victory in the fifth heat of Round 3 (Round of 64) to make his way into the next round, while he was accompanied by Australia’s Adrian Buchan who finished second. Australia’s Nathan Hedge finished third, whereas Hawaii’s Ian Walsh had to settle
for fourth place.
The sixth heat saw Bourez emerge victorious, while Brazil’s Jesse Mendes finished behind him in second place to secure his place in the next round as well. Australia’s Yadin Nicol and Hawaii’s Ezekiel Lau got eliminated from the competition after rounding

the fate of the battle in his favour.
Buchan was able to claw his way into the next round as well after managing to get to a heat-total of 11.43 points, which comprised of a 7.00 and 4.43-point ride.
Hedge finished third with a heat-total of 9.84 points, while Walsh took the bottom spot after putting a two-wave total of 8.90 on the score-board.
The sixth heat saw Bourez walk away with the win after collecting a couple of scores in the seven-point range for a heat-total of 14.54 points.
Mendes successfully extended his life in the competition after scoring a 6.63 off his first business-wave and backing it up with a 6.00-point wave for a heat-total of 12.63 points.
