Taylor Made R7 425 or 460?

Question

I know that the 460 had a bigger head, but I was just wondering why someone would choose one over though other when they are the same club?

A 460cc head will help with distance and accuracy, while a smaller head generally makes it easier to "work" (or shape) shots. A more skilled golfer could opt for the 425 if they want to be able to draw or fade on command. The 460 is more likely to just go straight, which is what higher handicappers tend to look for.

they are completely different clubs. the numbers correspond to the club head cc. also the 425 is a quad head. this means there are four weights that move around whereas the 460 only has two weights that move. the advantage of one over the other is this...the 425 has the ability to change the height the ball flies, draw and fade and neutral bias, and also the weight if additional weights are bought separately. the 460 can be changed from neutral to draw but has the forgiveness that is characterized by the bigger head. so it just depends on what you are looking for. playability or forgiveness. my opinion is to step up and by the super quad. this is the newer club from taylormade and it actually puts both clubs into one. it has the 460cc head with the quad weighting. i think you will like it very much because you get a lot of playability but still forgiving. hope this helps.

Some golfers don't like how big a 460 cc looks setting up, so they turn to the smaller and more compact head that has similar movable weight technology. I've used the 425 cc before and it works well, but I haven't hit the 460 cc driver model. Although, I use a TM 460 cc driver. To me, it doesn't matter what it looks like at address too much, as long as it works.Also, some say the 425 gives better playability and workability.

Its really not the same club.....although similar technology is utilized.  Also,  Some folks just like 1 design over the other....its a personal choice kind of thing
